Apply for Certification Through NNCB


Application Process

Note: Applications are processed in the order received. Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing time.

1. Determine whether you need to apply for certification as a Certified Nurse Nutrition Coach (CNNC) or a Certified Nurse Nutritionist (CNN).

2. Determine the correct application(s) and fee(s).

3. Complete and send us the application.

By mail:

  • Print out and complete the application
  • Attach appropriate documentation to verify your credentials
  • Mail your check or money order along with application to:

  • By fax:

  • Print out and complete correct application
  • Attach appropriate documentation to verify your credentials
  • Fax application and all documents to our secure fax line, 800-838-1931 ext 2. Please note: this is a dual phone/fax line. You will need to enter the extension number before you activate the fax transmission, or your fax will not be received. If you have any difficulties in faxing us, please call us at 800-838-1931 ext 2 during normal office hours (10 AM until 3 PM Eastern time, Monday-Thursday) or email us at info @ nncb.org (no spaces).
  • For a faxed application, payment may be either sent by check or money order or made online through our secure payment gateway.
  • By email:

  • Email application and attach scanned required documentation to info @ nncb.org (no spaces)

  • 4. Pay for your certification application

    By mail:

  • Please note: no applications will be processed without receipt of the appropriate fees.

    Applications & Fees

    Applications are available in one of two forms: an Adobe Acrobat PDF file, or a Word 2003 file. If you need Adobe Reader, you can download it free from Adobe.


    Certified Nurse Nutritionist $65 per year

    Certified Nurse Nutrition Coach $65 per year

    If you are past due in applying for recertification, please enclose $25 for each certification renewal which is past due. Past due applications for recertification will not be processed without this fee.

    If you wish to order a new or replace a lost or damaged certificate issued by NNCB, please send a $25 processing fee along with your request.

    If your certificate does not arrive after six weeks, please contact NNCB. You must contact us about a missing certificate within 3 months of applying to receive a replacement at no charge. If you contact us more than 3 months after applying you will be requested to pay a $25.00 service fee. It is your responsibility to keep NNCB informed of your current mailing address and other contact information. If mail does not reach you because you have not kept us properly informed, it is your responsibility.

    If you are reinstating your certification after your previous certification has expired, you must enclose a $25 reinstatement fee in addition to the certification fee. If you are 1 year or more past due, please contact our office by email or phone before submitting an application for recertification so that we can determine your status and fees.
